Like the Arizona bill, the Indiana bill will soon face a floor vote.

Premises registration is mandatory under 345 IAC 1-2.5.

The information below is current as of April 20, 2006. While every effort has been made to assure accuracy, readers should confirm the information by examining the relevant state statutes and rules.

Unfortunately, Indiana has already adopted rules which would make premises registration mandatory for most animal owners by September 1, 2006. (345 Indiana Administrative Code 1-2.5 and 7-4.5.) (Horses are presently exempt.) However, Indiana citizens are beginning to organize and lobby legislators against the mandatory rule.
